The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced a 96-hour suspension of all online VAT-related activities due to the relocation of its network. According to the NBR, all operations under the Integrated VAT Administration System (IVAS) will remain offline from 7:00 AM on December 19 to 7:00 AM on December 23.

In a press release issued on Sunday (December 15), the NBR informed that taxpayers will not be able to access services such as online tax payments, e-payments, or VAT calculations during this period. The measure has been necessitated by a change in the service vendor for the network.

The press release stated that the responsibility for network services is being handed over from the previous vendor, Access Telecom (BD) Limited, to the new vendor, BDCOM Online Limited. The transition, activation, and assurance of seamless online services are expected to take approximately 96 hours.

The NBR has urged taxpayers, VAT officials, and other stakeholders to complete any urgent tasks before the downtime. The board expressed optimism that online services will become more efficient and uninterrupted following the completion of the network transition.
